Rabbi Josh Broide

Rabbi Josh Broide grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, home to the soaring Table Mountain, golden beaches and bountiful vineyards. After moving to the United States, he settled in New Jersey and then spent time studying in Israel and Maryland. The Broide family have now spent the last 18 years in Boca Raton, Florida.
Josh is the Founding Director of the Deborah and Larry D. Silver Center for Jewish Engagement, a Division of Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, the Outreach Rabbi at Boca Raton Synagogue, as well as the founder of the Boca Raton Jewish Experience.
Josh’s warm and welcoming personality and his nonjudgmental approach have helped attract thousands of people from diverse backgrounds to feel part of the Boca Raton Jewish community. Previously he served as the founding Director of the Jewish Student Union (JSU) of South Florida, the Campus Rabbi at the Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, the Boys Head Counselor at Camp Mesorah and the Youth Director and Executive Director at Boca Raton Synagogue. Josh has also led many teen and adult trips to Israel, including the Southern Region's March of the Living.
Rabbi Broide received his Rabbinical Ordination and earned a Masters in Advanced Talmudic Law from the Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, he earned a Masters in Special Education, and a Masters in School Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University. He received a certificate in Rabbinic Management for Jewish Leaders from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Josh recently completed the powerful Encounter program, and is currently enrolled in the Shalom Hartman Institute's Rabbinic Leadership Initiative in Israel.
Josh was named one of America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis by the national Jewish Daily Forward newspaper. He is the recipient of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s James & Marjorie Baer Outstanding Young Leadership Award, and the prestigious Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. He was recognized by the Jewish Federation of North America as a Jewish Community Hero in recognition of his contribution to the Jewish Community and the ideal of Tikkun Olam. He also received the National Jewish Outreach Program (NJOP) Leslie Nelkin Special Service Award for his commitment to outreach.
Josh is passionate in his support and love of Israel and continues to work tirelessly for the Boca Raton Jewish community. He enjoys playing drums and guitar and listening to music. He and his wife Simone have six children, Ayala, Avigayil, Eliana, AJ, Ahuva & Eytan.
Rebbitzen Simone Broide

Simone Broide was born in Washington Heights, New York and moved to Teaneck New Jersey when she was in elementary school. Simone received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stern college and her masters in counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Simone came to Boca Raton in the summer of 2000 when she and Josh were asked to be the youth directors at Boca Raton Synagogue.

Over the years Simone has worked in a number of capacities in the community. She was a resource room teacher at Hillel Day School, assistant school counselor at Weinbaum Yeshiva High School, Program director for Chai Lifeline, Camp director for Gan Izzy, co-owned a hat business, Chapeaux, created her own Jewish publication, called “Our Jewish Community", and worked for years the Boca Jewish Center & Boca Raton Synagogue.

Simone is now the Executive Director of the Boca Raton Jewish Experience and co-directing Boca Women Inspired along with Shayndel Plotkin. They are about to bring their third bus of moms to Israel with the JWRP, Jewish Women's Renaissance Project later this year.

Simone now works at the Boca Raton Jewish Experience as the Executive Director. Simone and Josh are blessed with six incredible children, Ayala, Avigayil, Eliana, AJ, Ahuva & Eytan.
