My Story
Rabbi Josh Broide is a passionate and visionary Jewish leader whose warmth and inclusive spirit have transformed the South Florida Jewish community. Raised in Cape Town, South Africa and later settling in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Rabbi Broide spent formative years studying in Israel and Maryland before ultimately making Boca Raton home for the past 25 years.
He serves as the Director of the Silver Foundation and is the Founding Director of the Deborah & Larry D. Silver Center for Jewish Engagement, a division of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. Under his leadership, the CJE became the only community organization to receive the prestigious Jerusalem Unity Prize from the State of Israel. Rabbi Broide is also the Outreach Rabbi at Boca Raton Synagogue, the founder of the Boca Raton Jewish Experience (BRJE), and the Global Director of Partners in Jewish Life. He is a Senior Rabbinic Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.
With a talent for creating meaningful, accessible Jewish experiences, Rabbi Broide has brought thousands closer to Jewish life, identity, and Israel through outreach events, educational programs, and nearly 30 missions to Israel and Poland. His dynamic approach has made him a national figure in Jewish engagement.
Rabbi Broide received Rabbinical Ordination and a Master’s in Advanced Talmudic Law from Ner Israel Rabbinical College, along with Master’s degrees in Special Education and School Administration from Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a certificate in Rabbinic Management for Jewish Leaders from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Beyond his professional roles, Rabbi Broide is an avid musician who enjoys playing the drums and guitar. He and his wife Simone are proud parents to Ayala & Jake, Avigayil & Zach, Eliana, AJ, Ahuva, and Eytan.
