My Story
Rabbi Josh Broide is a visionary leader with a warm, inclusive spirit who continues to shape Jewish life locally and internationally. He currently serves as Vice President of the Silver Foundation, Global Director of Partners in Jewish Life (PJL), and Director of the Boca Raton Jewish Experience (BRJE), where he leads innovative initiatives that strengthen Jewish identity, unity, and connection to Israel.
For 25 years, Rabbi Broide served the Boca Raton Synagogue community in a wide range of impactful roles, including Youth Director, Teen Rabbi, Executive Director, Outreach Rabbi, and Assistant Rabbi. He was also the Founding Director of the Deborah and Larry D. Silver Center for Jewish Engagement, a division of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, where he successfully connected thousands of individuals from diverse backgrounds and fostered a vibrant sense of belonging and community.
Earlier in his career, he served as the Founding Director of the Jewish Student Union (JSU) of South Florida and held significant leadership roles at Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, reflecting a lifelong dedication to Jewish education, outreach, and community building.
Rabbi Broide is an international correspondent for Jewish Breaking News (JBN) and the host of several podcasts, including serving as a founding co-host of Behind the Bima, where he shares timely insights, inspiration, and meaningful Jewish conversations with a global audience.
His academic accomplishments include Rabbinical Ordination and a Master’s in Advanced Talmudic Law from Ner Israel Rabbinical College, along with Master’s Degrees in Special Education and School Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University. He also completed the prestigious Rabbinic Management for Jewish Leaders program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Recognized as one of America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis by The Jewish Daily Forward, Rabbi Broide has received numerous honors, including the James & Marjorie Baer Outstanding Young Leadership Award, the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education, and the NJOP Leslie Nelkin Special Service Award.
A passionate advocate for Israel, Rabbi Broide is a Senior Rabbinic Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute and played a key role in launching Partners in Jewish Life in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs. His leadership in fostering unity across South Palm Beach County was recognized with the Jerusalem Unity Prize from the President of the State of Israel.
Rabbi Broide and his family recently made Aliyah to Israel, while he continues to travel frequently to the United States to lead, teach, and build bridges across the Jewish world. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys playing the drums and guitar and cherishes time with his wife, Simone, and their children: Ayala & Jake, Avigayil & Zach, Eliana & Elisha, AJ, Ahuva, and Eytan.
